New Year’s Nuptials

What better way to ring in the New Year than with a wedding?  This year, plenty of celebrity couples chose to tie the knot during the New Year’s holiday.  Here are four couples who kicked off the year with brand new marriages and my take on their wedding day style.

Shania Twain and her husband, Frederic, looked lovely together at their New Year's Day celebration. Their black and white outfits suited each other perfectly. Shania's gown, bought at a small Swiss boutique, was simple and elegant and her long veil added glamour to the ensemble. -- Image courtesy of People magazine

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and new wife, Samantha Sarcinella, had a lavish New Year's affair. Though this picture only shows the top half of Samantha's Michael Cinco dress, in my mind that is the better half! The neckline on this dress was elegant and sophisticated and is my absolute favorite of the four New Year's gowns I'm showing here. Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale invited friends over on New Year's Day for a surprise wedding ceremony! After stating plans to wear black last year, Valerie instead selected a turquoise David Meister gown. I must admit, I was somewhat upset with her decision. The look doesn't do her fabulous figure justice and looked sort of slapped together. Her Jimmy Choo shoes, while amazing in their own right, didn't suit the ensemble well, in my opinion. --- Image courtesy of People Magazine

Kellie Pickler and husband, Kyle Jacobs, eloped on New Year's to celebrate their love with a beautiful, intimate beachside ceremony. Kellie's Badgley Mischka ballgown suited her figure perfectly and Kyle's laidback attire was just right for a beach wedding! --- Image courtesy of tkatla.com
